Łysica Mountain


Łysogóry are the highest mountains of the Swiętokrzyskie Mountains and one of the few that rises higher than 300 meters above the level of the surrounding valleys. The whole stretch on Polish territory, from the river Lubrzanka to the Nowa Slupia. It extends at the area of 25 km. The highest peak is Łysica, which rises to a height of 612 m n. P. M. The mountains formed during the Caledonian orogeny rejuvenated the next two orogenesis. Although Łysica is their highest peak, the most famous is considered to be Łysa Góra mountain, where are said to be rallies of witches. Now there is the monastery where are kept the relics of the Święty Krzyż.
